How to use other fonts (for example chinese) in CoDeSys

Steps to do on the CCpilot XA/XS:

1. Remount the file system in read-write mode:

# sudo mount –o remount,rw /

2. Copy the attached SimSun.ttf to /usr/lib/fonts/SimSun.ttf on the XA

3. Remount the file system in read-only mode

# sudo mount –o remount,ro /

4. Reboot

 

Steps to do on the PC:

Install the attached SimSun.ttf on your PC by right-click and press install.

 

Steps to do in CoDeSys:

1. Check the “Use Unicode strings” in the Visualization Manager (see picture 1)

2. Choose the font SimSun for each string that is present in VISU (see picture 2)

 

Disclaimer:
Please note that this is a work-around and that the installed font will be removed during a OS update.
