Starting a Qt application from command line

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly versionPDF versionPDF version

A Qt application requires a server application to be running, like X windows, or to be the application itself. Any Qt for Embedded Linux application can be the server application by constructing the Qapplication object with theQApplication::GuiServer type, or by running the application with the -qws command line option.

#./myapplication -qws

#./myapplication -plugin tslib

Or in source code:

int main(int argc, char *argv[])
   QApplication a(argc, argv, Qapplication::GuiServer);
   return a.exec();
